Balinese Lidded Jar

Handbeaded over a sturdy woven rattan jar. Beadwork is a small cottage industry in Bali, done mostly in the home. I found all my pieces from various artists showcased in a small storefront with no electricity outside of Ubud. Notice how the different colored glass beads are organized in recycled soda bottles. Any inconsistencyi or minute imperfections add to the charm. Large pieces like this can take upwards of a week to complete. Measures 12.5” and 11” wide.
