Balinese Lidded Jar

Handbeaded over a sturdy rattan framework. Beadwork is a small cottage industry in Bali, done mostly in the home. I found all of my pieces from various artists in a small storefront with no electricity outside of Ubud. I found it interesting to see the way they stored the different colored glass beads in old recycled water bottles. Any imperfections or irregularities only add to the charm. Pieces this size can normally take 2 days to complete.               Measures 5.5” tall, 7” wide.
